Scott & Ingra Founders of Shear Craftsman
Hi, we’re Scott and Ingra, the husband-and-wife team behind Shear Craftsman. In 2025, we relocated from the Seattle area to Myrtle Beach to start our new business, enjoy the coastal lifestyle, and make new friends along the way.
Our Story: From Seattle to the Southern Vibes
In 2025, we chose Myrtle Beach to launch Shear Craftsman, to bring the same high standard to the Grand Strand and the Eastern Carolinas, and to soak up the Southern vibes we love. Today, we combine precision workmanship with neighborly service—on-site where you work or via fast, nationwide mail-in.
For years in the Seattle area, we supported top industry professionals—salons, barbers, pet groomers, and veterinary clinics—sharpening tens of thousands of shears and clipper blades. Scott was recognized as a top-earning sharpener in the Northwest, trusted for consistent results and clear communication.
Scott – Master Sharpener
Hi, I’m Scott, a Master Sharpener, and I partnered with my wife, Ingra, an Internationally Certified Professional Groomer, to found Shear Craftsman. In Seattle I built long-term relationships with stylists and veterinary clinics, sharpening tens of thousands of blades and shears. I studied with leading sharpeners, attended professional seminars, and refined my technique one-on-one with industry experts.
My passion is making sure every stylist, groomer, and veterinary surgeon has tools that are sharp and reliable. I’m teamwork-oriented—when I’m working with your tools, they matter to me as if they were my own. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, sports, and exploring good cuisine.
Ingra – Internationally Certified Professional Groomer
Hi, I’m Ingra, an Internationally Certified Professional Groomer and co-founder of Shear Craftsman alongside my husband, Scott. I’ve managed grooming businesses for 10+ years—owning a mobile grooming franchise (later sold) and running a home salon. That experience taught me what clients value most and helps me guide Scott on the function and use of the tools he maintains. I also curate retail products—items I’d proudly use in my own salon.
At Shear Craftsman, I keep scheduling and the back office running smoothly so Scott can focus on sharpening and client relationships. Outside the salon, I spend time with my two Airedale Terriers and Russell Terrier and love the AKC Montgomery dog show circuit each October—plus beach days and travel with Scott and my mom.
